While some manufacturers cut corners on finish to save time and cost, Stoll takes the opposite approach. We’ve built a multi-step powder coat system designed to deliver trailers that not only perform in the field but also hold their finish for the long haul.

The Powder Coat Process
Step 1: High-Temp Wash
Every trailer begins with an alkaline high-temperature wash to remove grease, oils, and debris—ensuring a clean foundation for the finish.
Step 2: Sanding & Prep
All weld splatter is removed, corners are smoothed, and surfaces are prepped to give the powder coat a strong foundation to adhere to.
Step 3: Media Blasting
Unlike some manufacturers, we blast every trailer. This eliminates mill scale and adds a surface profile that significantly improves adhesion.
Step 4: Pressure Rinse & Pretreatment
After blasting, each trailer undergoes a high-pressure rinse and chemical treatments: one to prevent flash rust and another to enhance powder adhesion.
Step 5: Powder Application
Trailers are inspected, then sprayed with a super-durable polyurethane powder coat for maximum strength and protection.
Step 6: Oven Cure
The frame is baked at 400°F for one hour, ensuring the powder coat fully cures. This step locks in toughness and resistance to chips and scratches.
Step 7: Quality Testing
Once cooled, every trailer undergoes a chemical cure test to confirm the finish meets both Stoll’s standards and manufacturer specifications.
Step 8: Final Assembly & Inspection
With the coating complete, trailers move to final assembly. Flooring, electrical, and trim are added, followed by a full inspection of all systems before delivery.
